I engaged with D&AC to provide support for my brother. I live interstate and was having difficulty finding the correct support that would suit my brother. Ab and his support worker, Cara, have been fantastic! Not only has Ab provided me with great advice on how to navigate the NDIS system, but has gone above and beyond and has truely personalised the support needed. Ab and Cara have been flexible, understanding and approachable. I am so glad this has been a positive and successful outcome for my brother.

Ab has been fantastic at helping me navigate support for my brother. I live interstate and was having difficulty setting up services and support for my brother. Ab was able to give me great advise on how to navigate NDIS, provided advise on what would work best for my brother and was able to cover one of his support workers shifts (meaning that a visit wasn't cancelled). Ab has been flexible, understanding and has truely gone above and beyond. His regular communication and updates has put me at ease. Thank you for the personalised and tailored approach. So glad this has been successful for my brother.

Your questions, answered

The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

To be eligible for the NDIS, individuals must be under the age of 65, be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to participate in everyday activities.

Your NDIS plan revolves around your personal life goals and aspirations. It is crafted based on the information you share during your planning session with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Within your plan, you will find a breakdown of the various supports required to help you reach your goals, along with the specific funding allocated to each support category.

Your NDIS plan is tailored to your needs and is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your changing circumstances and goals.

The NDIS can be difficult to navigate, it's important that you prepare and seek out assistance during your application process.

For more details, see our step by step guide by visting https://www.ndis.gov.au/applying-access-ndis/how-apply.

The NDIS requires service providers to register with them to allow for direct invoicing claims for NDIA-managed clients. However, not all providers opt for registration, meaning there could be a suitable unregistered provider out there that can offer you supports. Access to these unregistered providers is only available if you self-manage your funds or have a Plan Manager.
